The disestablished studio, DisneyToon Studios (which was known for creating direct-to-video and occasional theatrical Disney films) provided the animation. The Lion King: Revisited was announced to celebrate the premiere of the third and final season of The Lion Guard. Despite the enormous turnout, Mufasa's younger brother Scar purposefully did not show up, as he was angered at being replaced as the next in line to the throne. The gathered animals erupted into cheers and bowed before their future king. Rafiki then took Simba into his arms and held him up atop Pride Rock for the Pride Landers to see. Timon and Pumbaa continued their journey and find a new home near Pride Rock. The animals at the front saw this and believed that the fallen animals were bowing, and soon, they all bowed together, too. When Timon and Pumbaa walked through the herd of animals witnessing the presentation of the new-born Simba, Pumbaa became a victim of his demophobia-triggered flatulence problem and the terrible smell made a few animals collapse.

Rafiki smeared gourd juice and sprinkled sand across Simba's forehead, formally anointing him as Mufasa's heir.

When all the guests had assemble, Rafiki, the Royal Mjuzi of the Pride Lands, made his way through the crowd and climbed Pride Rock, where he embraced Mufasa and met Simba. Zazu, Mufasa's majordomo, arrived and bowed before Mufasa. The Pride Landers gathered below Pride Rock while Mufasa overlooked the crowd.
